Rust Spots

My husband and I received these as a gift on our registry. A couple of months of use resulted in very unattractive rust spots. It seemed like a sturdy, stainless steel when I felt them in store but they have not held up at all. Given the price and perceived quality, it's a major disappointment. I feel embarrassed pulling them out when I'm entertaining guests.

very nice quality for the price

I love the weight of this pattern as well as the design. I have been looking for new flatware for a while now and this pattern will work well for me. The only thing I would change would be to make the place/soup spoon a little smaller. They seem quite large compared to the other pieces but it is not a big deal. Over all I was very well satisfied with my purchase.

Rust in less than 1 year

Purchased this set about 10 months ago, and all the knives have begun to rust along the cutting edge. It's beautiful, but for the price, and the reputation of Villeroy & Boch, it should not rust in less than a year. I called Macy's and they said there is no warranty and because I'm outside of the 180-day return window there is nothing they can/will do. Buyer beware!

Very elegant and stylish but....

This set is so beautiful and has a nice hand feel. They look great on the table, but the knives are problematic. The shape is fine, but I'm noticing some pitting on the finish. In fact I sent the first set back because the blades had little nicks in them. Now I'm seeing the same thing on this replacement set. Not on the forks or spoons, just the knives. I'm keeping them, but am disappointed the finish on the knives seems cheap.

Good design, not made in Germany

I hesitated for a long time if I should buy this big flatware set or not. I love all the V&B dinnerware products, very special, amazing design, and premium quality. About these flatware, I didn't know before I bought, but I really wanted to try. when I got them, actually not good as their dinnerware line, and not as what I expected, but honestly the flow wave shape design is good, as least meet one of my expectation. A little sad that they were made in Indonesia, not Germany. I decided to keep them, just because I really love V&B!

Odd shape

The pieces overall looked elegant and pretty but they are odd to hold. They are too thin and feel odd in your hand.

I got this set and it’s looks amazing to the table together with villeroy new wave plates. I have a lot of compliments and I’m getting another 3 set’s to give as a gift.
