Huge quality of life increase!
I've had this machine for 9 months now, and I can honestly say it has increased my quality of life tremendously. I used to have an expensive café habit, and I still love going to cafés socially, but I no longer feel the need to treat myself to coffee outside the home. I mix it up--my current favorite setting is a cappuccino with just a little bit of milk. I clean the machine weekly, which is easy. I would recommend it to anyone.

Disappointed
The machine looks nice on the benchtop and is relatively easy to use. However, that's where the positive traits end. Even at maximum temperature, the coffee and milk froth this machine produces are lukewarm. The placement of the milk container is not centered on the drain which means using quick rinse makes a mess on your benchtop. For some reason, it cannot use decaf for all drinks. I cannot understand how a flat white cannot be decaf while a latte can. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this machine and am waiting for the warranty to expire so that I can bin it and purchase another one. Since all Philips espresso machines use the same technology, it is extremely unlikely my next machine will be a Philips.

Good coffee
I chose this machine because I like good coffee and wanted an easy way to make it at home. This machine does that well however I do find it very fiddly to clean properly.

Works Great and easy to use. Wish the front would put the latte as a default. And it should always default to hot.

Not worth the cost
Disappointed in the device. User interface is not as easy as it appears, and the instructions/troubleshooting is really lacking. Trying to find how an 'extrashot' works with the 12 options is really hard. The milk frother didn't work, coffee was weak and the taste was horrendous. Would not recommend.

Does not function consistently
18 months in and it works great - when it wants to. It has been frustrating getting the machine to work consistently. For example, brewing a 2x cup from beans the machine will make noise, but coffee does not disburse. When the rinse begins, again, loud noise but nothing comes out. Switch to a 1x brew and it will work, but again, depends on which brew settings enabled. I have descaled, cleaned, used cleaning tablets, etc., and nothing seems to work. HELP!
